3. K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute(KPJAYI)

 

K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institutein Mysore, India was in its starting years known as Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute when established by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (July 26, 1915 – May 18, 2009) in 1948. The functioning and the management of the Instituyte is in the hands of Sharath  Jois  grandson of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and Sarswathi Jois daughter of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois who is responsible for Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga teaching and instructions. One month is the minimum stay at this place. Although the Old shala (training place) is quite crowded the New Shala solved the problem.  Sri K. Pattabhi Jois was a disciple of Krishnamacharyaalso known as “Father of Modern Yoga,” who was appointed in 1930s by Maharaja of Mysore to revive ancient Yoga Tradition and a notion was cultivated by him that Yoga promotes Health and thus Ashtanga Yoga was  born.

4. Kaivalyadhama Ashram, Lonavala, Maharashtra
